Hi Ma’am! Yes, I have come across some of those online petitions asking the International Criminal Court to reconsider its decision to have Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago as one of their judges. Honestly, I don’t think Santiago would be stupid enough to act in the same manner at the ICC, as shed does here in the Senate.
I think what many of us seem to forget is that her actions here, primarily a result of what she considers to be the stupidity of others, are also also motivated by media coverage and the public reaction to her tirades.
We must admit, while we detest how she belittles some people and temporarily forgets her sanity due to her rage, we all do anticipate bolts of lightning from her mouth whenever she stands to speak at the Senate.
I’m with you in the thought that she might act differently when she abroad. As a senator and a career public servant, Santiago has gone to several countries representing the people, but I haven”t heard of a report of her going amok abroad.
We all know how the good Senator considers herself properly and thoroughly educated, and among the finest minds of our country; then I think she would also live up to how she appreciates herself vis-a-vis her fellow judges, office staff and the accused war criminals, dictators and despots.
Then again, humans are always unpredictable.
