Yep. Despite my being baptized in the Christian tradition and being schooled in Western education, I do take into account some beliefs and customs observed by our ancestors.
I do observe some of the practices they have in relation to baptism, marriage, death and burial. I am not sure why I do them. But I do think that there is also nothing wrong in observing them.
To adhere to some of these beliefs, despite my supposed growth in the contemporary setting, is, to my mind, an affirmation of my attachment to my ethno-lingual roots.
