Fighting poverty has been an uphill battle in Philippines partly due to the rapidly increasing population. The United nations Population Fund (UNFPA) said that with a population of 94 million, the Philippines is the 12th most populous country in the world and with an average of 2 million babies born every year, the number could hit the 100 million mark by 2015.
